She was born in Alvanio, a town in Italy. One day, she was attacked by a maniac who tried to kill her. She survived and the maniac was imprisoned. A local painter, Berti Consalvi painted a painting inspired by the attack. 10 years later, she saw the painting in an Antique Shop, it drove her to madness and she took on the personality of her attacker. She killed the owner of the antique shop and 2 other women. Her Husband found out and became her accomplice.

One day, she tried to kill her husband, but injured herself with her own knife, a man named Sam Dalmas witnessed it and mistook it as Monica being attacked. Monica continued her murders after healing from her wounds. Her and her husband make threatening phone calls to Sam and his wife. Either her or her husband sent a hitman to kill Sam, but he failed, and one of them murder the hitman. One of them tries to murder Sam’s wife in their apartment, but are unable to break in.

Noises in the background of their phone calls are identified as a rare bird that’s at a zoo near Monica and Alberto’s apartment, Sam, his wife, one of his friends, and the police go to the zoo, but hear a struggle from the Ranieri’s apartment. Monica was attempting to kill her husband again, but they misconstrued it as Alberto trying to kill Monica, Alberto is pushed out of a window and is seriously injured. He falsely confesses to the murders and then dies.

Monica then leads Sam’s wife and friend to a nearby building where she kills the friend and ties up Sam’s wife. She later reveals herself to Sam, traps him, and attempts to kill him, Sam’s wife breaks free and gets the police. The police fit her on the back of the head and take her away. She is later institutionalized and her case are explained by a TV host.
