Late one night, when Freddy was 10, a trio of clown-masked burglars broke into his house. Not finding anything worth stealing, the trio went upstairs and murdered the parents. Freddy witnessed them do this, and for some reason the trio handed him their weapons, with one of them saying "You'll understand when you're older."
