Christian and his brother, Fritz, had a grandfather who suffered from a degenerative mental disease and was put into a psychiatric hospital until his death in 1943. From the day he was born, Christian showed early signs of developing the same disease and is implied to have killed his father by pushing him off of something. In adulthood, the disease got worse and Christian often took his mania out on female mannequins.
