Bernie had a troubled home life; her father left after he caught her mother cheating on him with Henry Waters. While her mother stuck around, she barely was home and spent most of her time drinking or having more affairs. Her life at school wasn't much better, as her peers had literally named her "Weirdo". Despite being a social outcast, she very much craved friendship and often hung out at house parties.
